On Wednesday November 11, the Railway Hotel dart team of Dave ‘Killer’ Thiel, Murray ‘Cod’ Logan, Steve ‘The Tall One’ O’Byrne, Tony ‘Minichello’ Fenech, Barry ‘McKenzie’ Bradtke, Ian ‘Inky’ Armstrong, Terry Knight and Jeff ‘Music Man’ Gardner were challenged by the Grenfell Bowling Club team of George Dumbrell, Rodney O’Neill, Wal Barker, Bradley Galvin, Steve Galvin, Brendan McAlister, Andrew Brown and Greg Jones for the prestigious dart cup.

Although all games were close, the Bowling Club only managed to win one game with the Railway retaining the cup 6 games to 1.

In 301, ‘Killer’ and ‘Cod’ (X1) defeated George and Rodney, ‘The Tall One’ (X16) and ‘Mini’ had a win over Wal and Bradley.

The Bowling Club’s only win came when Steve and Brendan (X17) defeated ‘McKenzie’ and ‘Inky’.

Terry (X10) and ‘Music Man’ won the last game of 301 when they defeated Andrew and Greg.

The Railway went on to win the three games of 501 with ‘Killer’ pinning X 18, ‘The Tall One’ jagging his second double for the night (X20) and ‘McKenzie’ reversing his first round loss with double 1.

Top scorer for the night was Bradley Galvin (Bowling Club) with a huge 131, Brendan jagged their only double and had a top of 89.

For the Railway ‘Inky’ topped the score with 120 (and 85), ‘The Tall One’ came in second with a tonne and also jagged two doubles followed by McKenzie on 85.

Fellowship was the winner on the night

Tonight November 18, Show No Mercy will do battle against the Railway, followed by the Royal Hotel November 25.
