Beautiful Work: Former local Natasha Hockings has come a long way since leaving Grenfell, having over 12 years experience in the cosmetic and beauty industry.
She started as a therapist, salon manager and trainer before pursuing a clinical career. Natasha has worked in the highly competitive cosmetic industry for specialist Doctors in both Sydney and London where her focus and passion has developed for skin health and longevity. Natasha is a Dermal Aesthetician and Laser Therapist and now works at Verve Cosmetic Clinic and Medispa at Woollahra. Natasha said “I thrive on results! It is so rewarding when you can help clients to look great and feel fantastic. It is about accentuating individuality and natural beauty. That is what makes a difference and that is what counts!”
Street Theatre and Film Making Workshop: Ryan Fitch, Rebekah Cordas and Jess Collins from the Bathurst Theatre Company travelled to Grenfell to run the free Festival Theatre and Film Making Workshop from January 17 to 20.
They were ably assisted by Darryl Knapp and Carly Brown.
Following the three busy days, the group took time out to relax and enjoy dinner at Fettler’s Restaurant.
Home from Canberra: David Lee treated his sister Helen Howlett to dinner when she was home for a visit recently from Canberra.
Teaching at THLHS: Popular teacher, Dexter Atienza who was in Grenfell at THLHS for a time during 2011, has returned and has a position as a Visual Arts Teacher.
Dexter said he is very pleased to be back in Grenfell and looks forward to a great year.
He was happy to have his parents Luisa Martin and Victor Atienza here to help him settle in.
Clancy CD Release at Tamworth: Nathan “Clancy” Hutson, son of Pam and Wayne of Grenfell spent ten days in Tamworth during the Country Music Festival where he released his first CD “Drive”.
Eight out of the eleven tracks on the CD produced by KrossKut Records were written by Clancy.
During his stay Clancy did up to five shows a day performing at the Tamworth City Bowling Club, Belmore Park Function Centre, Oasis Hotel/Motel Holiday Park, Tudor Hotel, Balladeers Homestead and the Royal Flying Doctor Service Fundraiser Shows.
Clancy paid special thanks to his beautiful daughter Taylor, for the hours of travelling and sitting around watching and waiting patiently along with his mum and dad for encouraging and believing in him and giving him the push to make this CD happen.
He also dedicated “Leave Him in the Longyard” (K Dixon/ M Dixon/D Kirkpatrick) to his “Old Mate” Bill Murphy.

Clancy does regular stints at clubs in the Cessnock/Singleton area.
Shearing Time: Andrew Robinson and family relaxed at their ‘cut-out’ evening at Fettler’s Restaurant last week.
Senior shearer John Gorman was on hand to teach Josh the fundamentals of the game.
Visitors: Ian Shepheard and his wife Linda from Freeman’s Reach visited Ian’s sister Ruth Jackson and her husband Wilf last weekend.
Ian a RSL Member and ‘Nasho’ from the Navy was in the area to attend the National Servicemen’s Memorial Dedication Ceremony in Cowra, where a plaque was unveiled by John Drum President of the RSL South West District Council.
The Memorial plaque honours the deceased members of the Army, Air Force and Navy.
The Official address on the day was delivered by the President of RSL National Branch, Rear Admiral Ken Doolan AO.R.A.N. (Ret).
Other guests included Don Rowe OAM, (President RSL State Branch), Ron Brown OAM, (President National Servicemen’s Association Australia State Branch), Senator Fiona Nash, Alby Schultz MP (Federal Member for Hume). Honourable Katrina Hodgkinson MP (State Minister for Primary Industries and Small Business), the Honourable Victor Dominello MP (State Minister for Citizenship and Communities and Minister for Aboriginal Affairs), plus many dignitaries from Cowra.
Dining Out: Charlie Greaves (4) from Young brought his aunty Nicole and poppy Bill Greaves to Grenfell last weekend for a special treat.
They caught up with Geoff Dawson and Noel McDonald from Thuddungra and enjoyed a night at Fettler’s Restaurant.
Noel makes the trip to Grenfell each Thursday to play social tennis with Bill Rudd and co at the Grenfell Tennis Centre.
