Nasho's first meeting for 2010

05 Feb, 2010 10:10 AM
The South West Slopes NSA sub-Branch held its first meeting for 2010 on Sunday 17th January at the Boorowa Recreational Golf & Bowling Club. At the meeting Graham O’Neill resigned as Media Officer, a big thanks goes to Graham for the work he has done over the past five months. Carol Grant was elected as the new Media Officer.

At the meeting the Secretary expressed his disappointment at the poor response to the mail out that was sent to every Member to the proposed trip to Canberra in September for the Dedication of the National Servicemen’s Memorial on the 8th September at the War Memorial, another form will be sent out with the next edition of “SIGNALS” so please Members fill it out and return it to the Secretary, so he can confirm Coach bookings.

All Ex-National Servicemen who are not members of the National Servicemen’s Association are also welcome to attend the Memorial Dedication, so all you ex-nashos out there if you would like to participate contact the Secretary on 04 3074 7268 or drop a line to him at 64 Kendal St Cowra 2794 for further information.

The Secretary told the meeting that things were progressing slowly with the quote for the stone for the Memorial for Anderson Park Young, as the Stone Mason required a larger blow up of the three Service Badges and the National Servicemen’s Badge so that they had more detail to feed into the Laser machine, he that the V/President was going furnish him with the necessary blow up of the badges which he would pass on to the Stone Mason.

The next meeting of the sub-Branch will be on Sunday 21st February at the Lachlan Hotel in the Bistro. Prior to the meeting we will be holding our annual Nasho’s Commemoration Service at the Cenotaph in Brisbane St at the front of the Services Club, form up at 0945hrs (9-45am). After the meeting at the Lachlan Members are reminded that a two course meal will be served in the Bistro at $15.00 p/h.
